When you join Audioboom with a Podcast Pros Account, we can help you generate revenue by selling host read advertising into your podcast - host read advertising is when you as the host, read a message on behalf of a client or service. We manage these through an integrated tool, Lirical, our host read management system which handles ad scheduling and billing.
Host reads are either baked in or dynamically inserted. Baked in host reads will be embedded directly into the content of your episode by you or your show producer. Dynamically inserted host reads are added to your content by Audioboom, at specific points within your episode, using dynamic ad insertion (DAI) technology.
Under the Ad Management section of your Audioboom dashboard, you will see your Ad Schedule. Here is where you’ll find a breakdown of your podcast release schedule and advertisements booked within those weeks/episodes. You also have the ability to filter by sold slots, adjust the date range that appears, and export your schedule as a CSV file.
Host reads booked as baked in will appear under the blue headings, whilst host reads booked as DAI will appear under the yellow headings, in order to give you more transparency and clarity into how your ads will be executed.
- Slot # - Indicates the order number ads are to be executed
- Status - The current state in which the ad slot is in. Breakdown below status definitions
- Advertiser - Name of the brand you will be voicing an ad for
- Amount - The net revenue you will receive for this ad
- Timestamp - Record of when the ad was executed in this episode
- Notes - Brief information of details relating to this ad

If your podcast releases multiple episodes a week, you’ll see this broken down accordingly in your dashboard. Episode 1 refers to the episode being released earliest in the week (eg: Tuesday), where episode 2 will refer to the following release (eg: Thursday), and so on.
Timestamps
If your host read was baked in, you can mark a sold slot as performed by clicking the pencil icon and entering its timestamp.
Timestamps are not required for host reads booked as DAI.
